  ALFREDO DE ANGELIS   November 2, 1910 - March 31, 1992

group Alfredo with his father, who was always in his orchestra

Alfredo's talent at the piano was obvious from an early age - he began playing in bands at the age of 10. He worked in a variety of orchestras (including that of the legendary Anselmo Aieta when Juan D'Arienzo was a violinist in the group) until forming his own to play on Radio El Mundo in 1941.

Alfredo's signature sound was that of the vocal duet.

If De Angelis's Vals from 1942-48 were taken away from the great tango collection, we'd be missing a lot. They are exciting and totally satisfying.

His most pleasing tangos were recorded in the 60's; the instrumentals Mi Dolor and El Tango Club have great sound and feel.

His best-known compositions are Pregonera and Mi carañito.

There are 21 tracks on the ToTANGO CD of Alfred De Angelis Restorations.
